Brad-boyle

Brad Boyle is an ecologist who has done extensive research on cloud forest ecosystems. He holds a B.Sc. in zoology from the University of British Columbia and a Ph.D. in ecology from Washington University in St. Louis, where he studied under the legendary Al Gentry, one of the world's foremost authorities on Neotropical forests. He is currently a Research Associate at the University of Arizona where he studies the effects of climate change on tropical forests. Brad also coordinates field biology courses in Costa Rica for the Organization for Tropical Studies, and has worked on ornithological research projects in Mexico, Central and South America, and Africa.

Brad and Alice have been birding and working in Oaxaca since 1991 when Brad first began his research on the cloud forests of the Sierra Norte. Returning each year, they now assist Oaxacan conservation organizations striving to protect the region's unique biological heritage. In addition to being skillful birders with a special interest in birding by ear, Alice and Brad are keen students of Mexican history, archaeology, and cuisine. You will soon share their enthusiasm for this special part of Mexico!
